Physiotherapy
Physiotherapy aims to maintain, restore and improve your function after disease or injury. Our team of qualified clinicians assess the underlying cause of your joint, muscle or nerve issue, and using a combination of therapeutic exercises and manual therapy, provides treatment of your symptoms while providing lifestyle advice and education.
All of our physiotherapists have experience treating a wide range of symptoms and ailments.
Spinal Decompression
Patients who suffer from the chronic pain associated with bulging, degenerating, or herniated discs may benefit from treatment using a spinal decompression table. This type of pain, which can manifest as back or neck pain itself as well as associated pain in the arms and legs, may have already been treated by traditional traction methods, traditional Physiotherapy or even by spinal surgery to limited improvement.
In these cases, a spinal decompression table that uses computerized sensors to perform stretching actions on the spine and promote healing can be uniquely effective. Spinal decompression therapy aims to help patients who suffer from:
- Debilitating pain due to bulging discs
- Degenerating spinal discs and facet joints
- Herniated discs
- Chronic low back pain
- Lower back stiffness
- Many causes of sciatica or nerve pain
- Worn spinal joints
Remedial Massage
Remedial Massage assists to remedy the body, treating structural/postural dysfunctions, muscle imbalance, injury, and stress. These massage techniques help you to get the blood flowing which encourages and enhances the recovery process. Massage has a wide range of benefits and treatments including:
- Lymphatic Drainage
- Reduce Muscle Tension
- Reduce Pain
- Helps blood circulation
- Increase flexibility
- Promotes Wellbeing
- Relaxation
Pregnancy Massage
Pregnancy is a very special time in a woman’s life that creates significant physiological, structural, and psychological changes. Pregnancy massage can help you cope with these changes to your body. The massage focuses on your needs, helping to relieve tension, calm your mind and focuses on your individual aches and pains.
Hydrotherapy
Hydrotherapy is a safe and enjoyable form of exercise for young and old, whether for fitness, general well being or specific rehabilitation. This type of exercise is instructed by our qualified clinicians and is conducted in a heated pool.
Hydrotherapy can be highly beneficial for people suffering from a wide range of conditions:
- Joint Replacements
- Back Pain
- Arthritis
- Sports Injuries
- Stroke
- Decreased Mobility
- Reconditioning
Dry Needling
Dry needling is used for a wide variety of musculoskeletal issues by treating muscle tissue to reduce pain, inactivate trigger points and restore function.
A thin needle is inserted through the skin to treat underlying muscular trigger points which are local contractures or tight bands in muscle fiber that can disrupt function, restrict range of motion, refer pain or cause local tenderness.
When dry needling is applied to a dysfunctional muscle or trigger point, it can decrease banding or tightness, increase blood flow, and reduce local and referred pain.
Dry needling is used as part of a broader physical therapy approach
Craniosacral Therapy
Craniosacral therapy is a type of therapy to lower stress levels and allow the body to return to a state of relaxation and to alleviate pain. It essentially resets the nervous system using very gentle and pain free mobilisations of the skull and tail bone. Craniosacral therapy can assist with:
- Headaches
- Chronic Pain
- Fibromyalgia
- Complex regional pain syndrome
- Fascial adhesions
- Neuralgia
